Yellow is the color of Spring, it marks the harvest time of mustard crop that has yellow blooms, which is also Goddess Saraswati’s favorite color. Every year, Basant Panchami is celebrated on the 5th day of Magha. Basant Panchami is celebrated in a different way in India. In eastern parts of India, it is celebrated as Saraswati Puja and people wear yellow color clothes, particularly in West Bengal and Bihar. Though, in North India, especially in Punjab, Basant Panchami is celebrated as a festival of kites, Whereas in Rajasthan people wear jasmine garland to celebrate this festival.
